It is important to know your rights when you are involved in any type of investigatory interview at the MBTA. You have the right to be reprented by a union official and you can not be punished by asking for representation. Utilizing this card, which can be read or presented to management prior to any such meeting where discipline could result, will go a long way in preserving your rights:
“If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, or affect my personal working conditions, I respectfully request that my union representative, officer, or steward be present at this meeting. Until my representative arrives, I choose not to participate in this discussion.”
